My Story:

My personal experience and struggle to find resources for women with breast cancer who

have implants is what motivated me to start Bust'n Fore Boobies©. Only 34 years old and

just when I thought life is good and I am doing things the way GOD intended me to BOOM! If

you had asked me in Aug 2009 how I was feeling I would have said great, happily married to

my soul mate and luckiest Mom of the most beautiful children in the world. I was running 2-

3 miles 2 or 3 times a week training for my first marathon. Something I have always wanted

to do and still set to do some time soon after reconstructive surgery. When one evening I

was watching TV with my Husband and I found a lump. (GULP!!!) Oh it’s probably scar tissue

from my implants. I am sure it’s nothing my sister had one and it was just liquid... that's what

I wanted it to be any ways. Mammograms, biopsy and lumpectomy later it was stage 1 triple

negative breast cancer. Good news is they got it all!! We had chosen to go through chemo

and radiation just as a precaution Triple negative is pretty scary stuff. I finished treatment

July 2010. It was trying but I am grateful for all my, family, friends, our church and my

employer who supports me and make life laughable, and of course my great doctors. With

this being said I was truly unaware of the statistics; 1 in 8 women get breast cancer in their

life time. In 2010 the total Breast implants surgeries were 296,203. Over the past 30 years,

an estimated 1.5–2 million women have received breast implants in the United States.

These women need to know you can get breast cancer with implants. I did! Do the math 1/8

of 1.5-2 million these women need support need questions answered.

Even more shocked by my encounters daily with friends, family and of courses strangers

whom have no idea how to do a self-check. And those who have implants that think they

are untouchable. I am also saddened by the fact that outside of the month of October there

is no breast cancer awareness? Breast cancer happens every day. So with that being said I

decided if I can make a small difference by talking about it to anyone who will listen I WILL! I

also find a lot of fun in fundraising and giving back. I am proud to say I also am a part of a

faith based cancer support group. With God all things are possible.

PLEASE HELP ME RAISE AWARENESS!!
